I believe the body is a map of the mind. When I move it's all with me. Every heartbreak, every recollection, every memory, every self I've yet to embody. It's all there singing through my skin, soaring on my breath. It's packed in the caverns of my heart, my lungs, my stomach, my womb. And I carry it all. And those thousands of stories make me come alive over and over again. I feel flooded with the sense that movement as healing is not just my calling, but my purpose. That through movement I can empty myself and become a vehicle, a vessel for greater healing that can change the microcosm of my community, and little by little the world.
I started my dance training at the age of 8, allowing my passion and discipline to grow at Berks Ballet Theater. I knew from early on that movement was my purpose, and so I progressed to attend Temple University to earn my BFA in Dance. Soon after I received my 200 Hr Yoga Teacher Training Certificate from Dana Hot Yoga. Yoga became a new method for me to tap into healing through movement and I pursued it with a fervor. I attended a weekend workshop with Meghan Currie, a 60 Hr Training with Shiva Rea, and an Advanced Teacher Training with Alex Auder.
In and amongst this flurry of trainings I had the privilege of working with a multitude of communities. I have spent time growing and moving with Berks Women and Crisis, The Cancer Support Community, Safe Harbor(A program for grieving children, children with special needs at Barclay Elementary School, as well as inner city kids at Imhotep Institute Charter School.
